The official launch of the first version of the SELF Platform will take place on September 5th, 2007, initially from The Netherlands. The Platform will be launched in an early stage to involve early users and allow for their input. The launch will take place during a conference on Free Software in education and the day will consist of keynote speakers and panel discussions. Simultaneously several satellite events to the launch in The Netherlands are planned in Sweden, Bulgaria, Argentina and Mexico with workshops and conferences. India will follow on September 7th, 2007, and Spain on October 6th, 2007.
In Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the conference will offer several keynote speakers and panel discussions.

Presentation by Henrik Sandklef and a live demonstration of the SELF Platform, at the Goteburg University. Participants are expected from different faculties of the university, libraries and schools around Goteburg.
ISOC.bg organises a half-day event at the Francophone Institute in Sofia with a live demonstration and presentation by Dessi Pefeva.
In Cordoba, Federico Heinz will join the launch in Amsterdam and present the SELF Platform with a live stream.
Beatriz Busaniche from Fundacion Via Libre will give a short presentation and launch the SELF Platform at Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

In India, September 5 is Teachers' Day. Therefore, HBCSE will launch the SELF Platform on September 7th, 2007.

The SELF platform will be launched in Barcelona on October the 6th within the semestrial meeting of professors, tutors and students of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). This meeting gathers hundreds of students and professors every semester and is one of the most relevant academic and social activities of the UOC. The activities of the meeting include different conferences, seminars and workshops. The final programme of the SELF launch will be confirmed in early September.
